A filet mignon or any good steak may be hard to improve upon, but a dab of this delicious compound butter will kick it up another notch. It's also good for making a unique garlic bread.

Ingredients

  • 1 stick
    unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1/2 Tbsp
    fresh garlic, pressed or very finely minced
  • 1/2 Tbsp
    minced fresh chives
  • 1/2 Tbsp
    finely minced shallot
  • 1/2 Tbsp
    minced fresh flat leaf parsley
  • 1 tsp
    minced fresh thyme
  • 1/2 tsp
    fresh ground black pepper

How to Make GARLIC HERB STEAK BUTTER

Step-by-Step

  1. In a small bowl, mash butter until fluffy.
  2. Add remaining ingredients and mix thoroughly.
  3. Shape into log or disk; wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  4. To store longer than 1 week, divide into 1 tablespoon size pieces; wrap each piece in wax paper; place in small freezer bag or container; freeze for up to 1 year.
