Italian sausage pasta sauce
1 lbitalian sausage
1/2sweet onion, finely diced
3-4 clovegarlic, grated
1 1/2 tspsugar
1/2 tsplemon juice
1/2 tspsea salt
3basil leaves, fresh or fresh frozen
3 can(s)15 oz ea, diced tomatoes with oregano, garlic and basil
1/2 cparmesan cheese
How to Make Italian sausage pasta sauce
- Dice onions and place in large skillet. Add crumbled sausage or chopped sausage links on top. Cook over low heat for about 20 min. until onions are tender and sausage is browned. Add grated garlic.
- Place canned diced tomatoes in food processor or blender. Add basil leaves, lemon juice, sugar and salt. Puree.
- Add to skillet with 1/2 c of Parmesan cheese and simmer about 20 min. on very low heat.
