italian sausage pasta sauce

This recipe is so easy, yet amazingly delicious!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound italian sausage
  • 1/2 - sweet onion, finely diced
  • 3-4 cloves garlic, grated
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 3 - basil leaves, fresh or fresh frozen
  • 3 cans 15 oz ea, diced tomatoes with oregano, garlic and basil
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese

How To Make italian sausage pasta sauce

  • Step 1
    Dice onions and place in large skillet. Add crumbled sausage or chopped sausage links on top. Cook over low heat for about 20 min. until onions are tender and sausage is browned. Add grated garlic.
  • Step 2
    Place canned diced tomatoes in food processor or blender. Add basil leaves, lemon juice, sugar and salt. Puree.
  • Step 3
    Add to skillet with 1/2 c of Parmesan cheese and simmer about 20 min. on very low heat.
