Homemade Taco Seasoning

Lou Kostura

I mix up a batch of this and always keep in on hand for my Mexican dishes, taco's, fajitas's, etc. I actually keep it in a old 16oz, taco season spice jar from when I would actually buy the stuff. It will keep for quite a while, and this recipe will fill my 16 oz. jare about 1/2 or so.

How to Make Homemade Taco Seasoning

  1. put all ingredients in large mixing bowl with the exception of oregano.
  2. place small amounts of oregano between your palms and crush into bowl until you get the whole amount in mixture. MAKE SURE TO USE MEXICAN OREGANO, it has a complete different flavor than Italian or Greek
  3. mix well and put in a jar, sealed bowl, storage container of your choice.
  4. the prepackaged taco seasoning has about 2-2 1/2 tablespoons for a 1 shot meal. I use about the same amount per pound of protein. I use this on beef, pork, turkey, chicken, and seafood. It is my go to Mexican seasoning
