I mix up a batch of this and always keep in on hand for my Mexican dishes, taco's, fajitas's, etc. I actually keep it in a old 16oz, taco season spice jar from when I would actually buy the stuff. It will keep for quite a while, and this recipe will fill my 16 oz. jare about 1/2 or so.

Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons paprika
  • 2 tablespoons paprika, smoked
  • 1 tablespoon cumin, ground
  • 2 tablespoons granulated garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons granulated onion powder
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons oregano, dried mexican
  • 1 tablespoon sea salt
  • 2 tablespoons pasilla chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon cayanne chili powder

How To Make homemade taco seasoning

  • Step 1
put all ingredients in large mixing bowl with the exception of oregano.
  • Step 2
place small amounts of oregano between your palms and crush into bowl until you get the whole amount in mixture. MAKE SURE TO USE MEXICAN OREGANO, it has a complete different flavor than Italian or Greek
  • Step 3
mix well and put in a jar, sealed bowl, storage container of your choice.
  • Step 4
the prepackaged taco seasoning has about 2-2 1/2 tablespoons for a 1 shot meal. I use about the same amount per pound of protein. I use this on beef, pork, turkey, chicken, and seafood. It is my go to Mexican seasoning
