My husband has an onion intolerance, so I had wanted to make pizza that he could have also. I had found a recipe on the internet, made some tweaks and he loves this! Our two teenage boys like it much better than jarred sauce, too!

yield Makes about 3 cups or enough for 2 reg. pizzas

Ingredients

  • 28oz. cans crushed tomatoes
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil, extra virgin
  • 1 tablespoon dried basil
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons fresh oregano (or 1 tsp. dried)
  • pinch red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

How To Make homemade pizza sauce

  • Step 1
    Combine all ingredients in saucepan.
  • Step 2
    Heat on stove top on medium heat.
  • Step 3
    Let simmer for 30 minutes.
  • Step 4
    If not using right away, cool down and store in airtight container in the refrigerator, up to 1 week.
