This is a great all-purpose barbecue sauce that we have used for years. The cookbook says "For beef, pork, lamb, veal, chicken, duck, rabbit, liver, kidneys, bologna roll, frankfurters, meat loaf, hash, potatoes, corn, carrots, cabbage, peppers, Lima and green beans, and onions" but we usually use it for chicken and pork. From Women's Day Encyclopedia of Cookery, 1966.

Ingredients For herb barbecue sauce

1 cketchup

1/2 cwater

3 Tbsptarragon vinegar

1 Tbspsteak sauce (or worcestershire sauce)

1/4 tspmarjoram (ground)

1/4 tsporegano (ground)

1/4 tspthyme (ground)

dashgarlic salt (i usually use garlic powder instead)
How To Make herb barbecue sauce

1Mix all ingredients together until smooth.

3Store in glass jar in fridge for nearly forever; if it isn't moldy, it's still good. If it looks a little like gelatin, heat in microwave or saucepan just a bit.
