Almond custard sauce
2 Tbspall purpose flour
3 largeegg yolks, lightly beaten
3 Tbspbutter, cubed
1/4 tsppure almond extract
How to Make Almond custard sauce
- In a large saucepan, combine the sugar, flour and cornstarch. Stir in milk until smooth. Cook and stir over medium-high heat until thickened and bubbly.
- Reduce heat and cook and stir 2 minutes longer. Remove from heat. Stir a small amount of hot filling into egg yolks and return to pan, stirring constantly.
- Bring to a gentle boil, cook and stir 2 minutes longer. Remove from heat. Gently stir in butter and extract. Serve warm sauce with cake or bread pudding. Store any leftover sauce in the refrigerator.
