This is great on chicken or ribs. I decided to play around because I didn't care for the tequila lime recipe my husband was using, just tasted like way too much tequila to me.

Loved the flavor in this sauce! In the Test Kitchen we enjoyed it on wings (and they were gone in minutes!). I can't wait to use it on other meats though. I used apple juice and tequila in this recipe.

Ingredients For tequila lime sauce

  • 1/4 c
    catsup
  • 1/4 c
    soy sauce
  • 1/4 c
    tequila or margarita mix
  • 2 or 3 tsp
    garlic cloves pressed or 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp
    onion powder or 1/2 small onion minced
  • 1/2 c
    brown sugar light or dark
  • 1/2 tsp
    adobo powder
  • 1 tsp
    cayenne pepper
  • juice from 1 lime
  • 1/4 c
    apple vodka or apple juice or pineapple juice
  • 1 tsp
    lime flavor kool-aid powder
  • 1 c
    honey
  • 1/4 tsp
    ginger powder

How To Make tequila lime sauce

  • 1
    Mix all ingredients and let sit about half an hour.
  • 2
    I marinate my chicken in the sauce and then baste as I'm cooking, whether baking or grilling or broiling.
