whiskey cream sauce
This recipe is for all you PRIME RIB and BONE-IN RIBEYE steak lovers. I got this recipe from Dee Drummond and all I can say is WOW incredibly delicious sauce! I made this sauce Christmas 2012 and poured it over bone-in ribeye steaks. The onions and whiskey makes such flavorful combinations.

Ingredients
- 12 tablespoons butter
- 1 1/2 cups diced onions
- 1 1/2 cups whiskey
- 1 1/2 cups beef stock or broth
- dash salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
How To Make whiskey cream sauce
-
Step 1Cook the onions in 9 tablespoons butter in a skillet over medium heat for a few minutes. When the onions are brown, turn off the burner temporarily so you won't ignite your kitchen.
-
Step 2Pour in the whiskey. As soon as it evaporates, turn the burner on medium-high heat and pour in the beef stock. Add salt and pepper, then allow the mixture to bubble and reduce by half.
-
Step 3Whisk in the remaining 3 tablespoons of butter, then reduce the heat to low. Whisk in 1 1/2 cups cream. Allow the sauce to simmer and thicken about 20 minutes or to your preference. Serve with beef, baby!
