I call these "miscuits" because as you can see I use a muffin pan to bake a true "cathead" size biscuit. Very simple and it's my wife's favorite breakfast dish.

Ingredients

2 1/4 c
all purpose baking mix
1 c
buttermilk

GRAVY

2 c
water, divided
3 Tbsp
all purpose flour
1 tsp
bacon fat
fresh ground peppercorns

How to Make Miscuits & Gravy

Step-by-Step

  • 1Spray muffin cups with butter flavored cooking spray.
  • 2Mix baking mix & buttermilk in large bowl, add about 1/2 of the muffin cup with biscuit dough.
  • 3Bake 12 minutes @ 450 degrees.
  • 4For the gravy, boil 1 cup of the water and bacon fat in a medium size sauce pot.
  • 5Wisk flour and other cup of water in a bowl, add to boiling water and grease.
  • 6Brink back to a boil, lower heat to low constantly whisking the mixture, add ground pepper.
