Everyone loves my Cranberry Sauce to the point that I have to double the batch.

Ingredients

Add to Grocery List

  • 1 1/3 c
    sugar
  • 1/4 c
    plus 2 tablespoons water
  • 1/4 c
    plus 2 tablespoons orange juice
  • 1/4 tsp
    ground allspice
  • 1/4 tsp
    ground cloves
  • 1/2 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1 pkg
    ( 12 ounce ) fresh cranberries
  • zest
    of an orange ( optional )

How to Make The Best Cranberry Sauce

Step-by-Step

  1. In a large saucepan, add sugar, orange juice, water and spices; cook until sugar dissolves and comes to a rolling boil. About 3 minutes.

    Rinse berries and pick out the bad ones. Add the cranberries to the boiling syrup. Continue boiling just until the cranberries begin to crack, about 2 - 3 minutes. Do not overcook.

    Remove from heat and stir in the zest. Cool at room temperature. Store in container with lid, until ready to serve.
