This sauce is simple and delicious. Very good drizzled over coffee cakes or as an icing for cupcakes. (then decorate). All kinds of uses. Just generally a nice sweet sauce recipe to have on hand.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 4 1/2 teaspoons corn starch
  • 1 teaspoon grated lemon peel
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice, fresh or concentrate

How To Make lemon sauce

  • Step 1
    In a sauce pan combine sugar, cornstarch, lemon peel
  • Step 2
    Whisk in water gradually until blended and thickened. This takes about 2 minutes. Remove from heat.
  • Step 3
    Stir in butter and lemon juice. Use warm or cool.
