This is a wonderful sauce that my whole family loves. It is also super easy to make and the first Christmas dish that my youngest made by himself. His favorite part is when the berries "pop".

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup apple or orange juice
  • 1/2 to 2/3 cups sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 dash ground cloves
  • 12 ounces pkg. fresh cranberries
  • 1/2 cup light raisins (optional)
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)

How To Make fresh cranberry relish - spiced

  • Step 1
    In saucepan combine juice, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. Cook and stir over medium heat until sugar is dissolved.
  • Step 2
    Add cranberries and raisins. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Cook and stir for 3 to 4 min. or until cranberries pop.
  • Step 3
    Remove from heat. Stir in pecans.
  • Step 4
    Transfer to serving bowl. Cover and chill thoroughly.
