This is a simple compote I like to serve with pancakes and waffles.I like to serve it warmed.I think it will go well with the pumpkin pancakes for Sunday breakfast.

makes about 1 1/2 cups
Method:

Ingredients

  • ·
    4 apples, peeled, cored and chopped
  • ·
    1/2 cup orange juice
  • ·
    1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • ·
    1/4 c brown sugar
  • ·
    2 tablespoons sugar
  • ·
    pinch of cinnamon
  • ·
    pinch of fresh nutmeg

How to Make Apple Compote

Step-by-Step

  1. In a saucepot on medium-high heat, add the apples, orange juice, lemon juice,sugars,cinnamon and nutmeg. Simmer over medium heat until the apples are tender and the juices are thickened.
