Years ago, I found this on the back of a Pepperidge Farm Crouton box. They called for anchovies that you ground into a paste; I opted for store bought anchovy paste.

romaine lettuce head, washed and torn
1/2 tube(s)
anchovy paste
1/2 tsp
freshly ground pepper
1 Tbsp
freshly squeezed lemon juice
1/4 c
egg substitute
1/3 c
olive oil
2 clove
garlic, crushed
parmesan cheese, freshly grated

How to Make Caesar Salad


  • 1Wash and spin romaine ahead of time and crisp in the refrigerator.
  • 2Mix garlic, pepper, lemon juice, egg substitute, anchovy paste and olive oil.
  • 3Pour dressing over Romaine, sprinkle Parmesan and croutons and toss well.
