beth's sweet and tangy coleslaw

I love slaw. My family loves slaw. I have, at minimum, eight different variations that are all favorites at my house. This one is a twist on a recipe used at a local BBQ place we enjoy. Hope you enjoy it, too.

Ingredients

  • 1 16-oz packages coleslaw mix
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup white vinegar
  • 1 cup half and half
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons horseradish sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
  • to taste - salt and pepper
  • 2 tablespoons onion flakes (or 1/4 c. finely diced, fresh)

How To Make beth's sweet and tangy coleslaw

  • Step 1
    Combine vinegar and half and half in large jar. Allow to sit 10 minutes.
  • Step 2
    Add all other ingredients except coke slaw mix to jar. Shake until sugar dissolves. Refrigerate at least 3 hours.
  • Step 3
    Pour chilled dressing over slaw mix and refrigerate at least 8 hours or overnight. Stir well before serving.
