One of our Texas friends gave us a dip recipe a couple years ago. Not being able to let well enough alone, of course, we had to add, subtract and adjust things a little. This version made its debut at the canyon's Independence Day shindig and people used it as a spread on crackers, a dip for vegetables, even on cold cut sandwiches! Nearly everyone asked for the recipe, including the person that gave us the original! Leftovers keep well in the 'fridge and you can re-heat it in the micro-zapper.

Ingredients

  • 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup good mayonnaise
  • 3 - green onions, finely chopped
  • 8 ounces swiss cheese, grated
  • 2 teaspoons dijon mustard
  • 3 slices bacon, cooked crisp, drained and crumbled
  • 4 - round buttery crackers

How To Make spring hill ranch's hot dip to die for

  • Step 1
In a medium mixing bowl, mix together the cream cheese, mayonnaise, green onions, Swiss cheese, mustard (if using) and bacon bits. Spread the mixture into a microwave safe baking dish or pie pan. Crumble the crackers evenly on the top. Refrigerate until you are ready to heat it up.
  • Step 2
When you are ready to serve it, microwave the dip for 5 minutes. Serve as a spread for crackers or toast points or as a dip for chips, crackers or vegetables. Refrigerate any leftovers and reheat to use again.
