peanut butter dipping sauce

This is another recipe I've used many times from am old TOH magazine...it's tested and approved, in fact I'm making it again tonight...I have tweaked it to my families liking...I cut the soy to 1 tablespoon...was plenty...this sauce is great for dipping, toss with noodles or a great marinade...I have used it for all three...enjoy! Ingredients

  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons canola oil
  • 2 - 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup peanut butter
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce, i only use 1 ( i would taste the sauce before adding the soy, you may not even want to use it
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

How To Make peanut butter dipping sauce

  • Step 1
    In a small saucepan, saute onion in oil until tender. Add garlic; cook 1 minute longer.
  • Step 2
    Add the water, peanut butter, sugar and chili powder. Bring to a boil. Cook and stir for 2-3 minutes or until slightly thickened.
  • Step 3
    Remove from the heat; stir in the lemon juice, soy sauce and salt.
  • Step 4
    Enjoy as a marinade, dip, or toss with noodles...
