Ingredients
- 5 large tomatoes, chopped
- 1 quart tomato juice
- 3 large sweet onions, chopped
- 8-10 medium jalapeno peppers, fresh, chopped
- 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
- 3/4 cup cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 large green bell pepper, finely chopped
How To Make padre picante' sauce

Step 1all veggies chopped; place all in a large, heavy pot. cook slowly for 1.5 hours; uncovered until cooked down and thickened.

Step 2Once thickened, allow to cool. put in to pint jars and refrigerate. makes 5 - 6 pints.

Step 3Adjust how spicy by the number of jalapeno peppers and how many pepper seeds. (i seed about half the peppers). Can add more chopped onions for chunky sauce.
