1/2 smallhoneydew melon, seeded
1/2 smallcantaloupe, seeded
1/3 largejalapeño pepper, seeded and diced
1/4 cfresh cilantro, chopped
2 Tbspfresh lime juice
15 ozjar salsa
1 largebag totrtilla chips (scoops work well)
How to Make Texas Summer Salsa
- Finely chop the honeydew and cantaloupe. Place chopped fruit in a colander for 30 minutes to allow all excess liquid to drain.
- Add the chopped jalapeño and cilantro to the fruit, and stir until well combined.
- Mix salsa and lime juice together in a bowl. Add the fresh fruit mixture, and mix well with wooden spoon. Transfer to festive serving bowl if desired, and chill until ready to serve.
- When ready to serve, place salsa bowl in center of a large serving platter, and arrange tortilla chips around the salsa bowl.
