Ingredients

  • - 1/4 cup olive oil
  • - 1/2 cup onions, diced
  • - 2 tablespoons garlic, minced
  • - 4 cups tomatoes, seeded and diced
  • - 1 tablespoon sugar
  • - 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • - 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • - 1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil

How To Make simple marinara

  • Step 1
    sauté onions in a large sauté pan over medium-high heat for two minutes in 1/4 cup olive oil. Add garlic and sauté for one more minute. Add tomatoes, sugar, salt and pepper flakes. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes, stirring frequently. Off the heat stir in basil. Makes 2 1/2 cups
