When we are at the cottage the men like to BBQ the gals do not mind we just have to make a salad so we get a break from cooking every day..this recipe great to have on hand as the recipe makes enough sauce for 5 pounds ribs, a dozen chicken legs and about 20 hamburgers and keeps well for 2 to 3 weeks refrigerated.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon dry mustard
  • 1 tablespoon heaping of hot horseradish
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 - large onion {finely diced}
  • 3 - large cloves garlic }fine minced}
  • 3 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
  • 4 tablespoons maple syrup

How To Make mop sauce

  • Step 1
    Saute onion and garlic in 1 tablespoon of oil until tender..add remaining ingredients and simmer for 25 minutes or until sauce begins ti thicken.
  • Step 2
    Cool and refrigerate in closed container..warm the sauce when ready to use,,will keep for 2 to 3 weeks in refrigerator.
