There once was a wonderful Chinese restaurant near where I live that had fabulous food. One of my personal favorites was their Hot Sauce. I know...Mexican food in a Chinese restaurant...but it was wonderful! The BEST hot sauce ever...

Food Processor


Add to Grocery List

  • 1 can(s)
    chopped tomatoes, 27 oz
  • 1/4 c
  • 1/4 c
  • 1
    jalapeno, fresh, seeded and chopped
  • 1/4 c
    sugar...can add a bit more if you like
  • 2 tsp
    black pepper
  • 2 tsp
  • 1/8 c
    vegetable oil
  • dash(es)
    garlic powder to taste

How to Make Canton Hot Sauce


  1. Put half the tomatoes, jalapeno and vegetable oil in the bowl of a food processor and process until it is as chunky or smooth as you like.
  2. Remove from processor and put in a large bowl. Add all other ingredients and the rest of the tomatoes. Combine thoroughly. Refrigerate.
  3. You can add other ingredients to your taste, such as onion or cilantro.
