oink & cluck best dry rub
After many attempts and looking at many recipes, this is the rub we use the most. This recipe makes enough for one rack of spareribs, about 3 pounds. Wrap the ribs or chicken in foil when baking or grilling, otherwise the brown sugar will burn.

Ingredients
- 1/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika, medium hot
- 1 1/2 teaspoons granulated garlic
- 1 1/2 teaspoons onion powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder, medium hot
- 1 teaspoon cumin, ground
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper, to taste

Step 1Put all ingredients in a small bowl and whisk until well combined. Taste and adjust seasonings to your own personal preference.

Step 2Use immediately, or place in an airtight container to store. This makes enough for one good sized rack of spare ribs.

Step 3To use: rub all surfaces of the ribs or chicken and prepare as you wish.
