tomato basil sauce
This is a recipe I got from a foodie friend named Elisha. I tried it about 2 years ago and have used it ever since! Its the best marinara sauce I've ever tried! And its so quick and easy to make! I added my photo!

Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons olive oil, extra virgin
- 4 - shallots-chopped finely
- 2 cloves - garlic-chopped finely
- 1- 14 oz. cans tomatoes- i use plum, peeled
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 8 - fresh basil leaves-shredded
- - salt & pepper to taste
How To Make tomato basil sauce

Step 1heat the oil in a heavy-bottom pan.

Step 2add the shallots, and cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes,til softened

Step 3add all the garlic and cook for 1 more minute.

Step 4add the tomatoes, juice and all, and break them up with wooden spoon.

Step 5stir in the sugar and season to taste with the salt and pepper.

Step 6bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes, until thickened.

Step 7stir in the basil leaves and simmer about 10 more minutes. Then serve and enjoy!
