I am Italian - so i am picky about tomato sauce.....but it doesnt have to take all day to make a good sauce - this is great for weeknights!!

Ingredients
- 1 1/8 cans diced tomatoes
- 2 large cans tomato sauce (plain)
- 1/2 cup dried basil
- 4 - beef bouillon cubes or 3 tsp beef base paste
- 1/4 cup garlic - minced
- 1 cup parmesan cheese - grated
- 2 tablespoons oregano, dried
- 1/4 cup margarine (yes i said margarine)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil, extra virgin
How To Make tastes like it cooked all day - tomato sauce

Step 1In a large stock pot, saute garlic in olive oil for about 3 to 5 minutes until just cooked. Add sauce, tomatoes, basil, cheese, oregano, beef base (or bouillon cubes) and cook for about an hour on medium-low, stirring often.

Step 2Remove from the heat and add margarine. (I know this sounds odd - (but it cuts down on the acidic nature of the tomatoes and gives it very smooth taste!)
