This recipe was given to me by my friend art. It is one of his family,s recipes. This recipe comes from Eddie's cook book TIME after TIME.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups rice wine vinegar
  • 3 cups cider vinegar
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 2 teaspoons ground allspice
  • 3 teaspoons ground coriander seed
  • 3 large onions minced
  • 5 - head of garlic roasted and minced
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 6 cups tomato ketchup
  • 3/4 cup moleasses
  • 3 cups brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • - just a pinch of salt

How To Make sweet bbq sauce by eddie

  • Step 1
    Choose a large enameled or stainless steel pot. Add vinegar and spices, Bring this mixture to a boil, and simmer until it is reduced by half. Saute the onions and garlic in olive oil until well caramelized, then add the moleasses and brown sugar to the onion mixture and continue to simmer for about five minutes. Now add the vinegar reduction and ketchup to the onion mixture and simmer about one hour. Let the mixture cool.
  • Step 2
    Put this cooled mixture through a food processor until smooth. FOR A VELVET TEXTURE pass it through a sieve. This makes about one gallon. ( ENJOY )
