Ingredients For special topping for meatlloaf

  • 1 sm
    onion, minced
  • 1 sm
    green bell pepper, minced (or your choice)
  • 1 sm
    can mushrooms stems and pieces, drained well
  • 1 can
    8-oz. can tomato sauce
  • 1/2 c
    ketchup
  • 1-2 Tbsp
    light brown sugar (optional)

How To Make special topping for meatlloaf

  • 1
    Mix all ingredients together in a saucepan and heat over medium-low heat, stirring often, until warm.

    If using a loaf pan, add enough sauce to cover the bottom of the pan. Add the meatloaf on top of the sauce and bake according to recipe directions.

    After removing the meatloaf from the oven, pour remaining sauce over the top.
