bay leaf

How to Make Spaghetti Sauce

Step-by-Step

  • 1In large skillet, cook onion in hot oil until almost tender.
  • 2Add meat and garlic; brown lightly.
  • 3Add remaining ingredients.
  • 4Simmer uncovered 2 to 2 1/2 hours or until sauce is thick; stir occasionally.
  • 5Remove bay leaf.
  • 6Serve over hot spaghetti.
  • 7Garnish with parmesan cheese, if desired.
  • 8NOTE: One pound of spaghetti will serve 4 to 6 as a main dish with sauce.
