Spaghetti Sauce

Ingredients

  •   1/2 c
    onion, sliced
  •   1
    bay leaf
  •   1/4 tsp
    thyme
  •   1 tsp
    salt
  •   1.5 tsp
    oregano
  •   1/4 c
    parsley
  •   3 oz
    mushrooms, canned
  •   16 oz
    tomato sauce
  •   2 lb
    tomatoes, canned
  •   2
    garlic cloves, minced
  •   1 lb
    ground beef
  •   2 Tbsp
    olive oil
  •   1 c
    water

How To Make

  • 1
    In large skillet, cook onion in hot oil until almost tender.
  • 2
    Add meat and garlic; brown lightly.
  • 3
    Add remaining ingredients.
  • 4
    Simmer uncovered 2 to 2 1/2 hours or until sauce is thick; stir occasionally.

    Remove bay leaf.
  • 6
    Serve over hot spaghetti.
  • 7
    Garnish with parmesan cheese, if desired.
  • 8
    NOTE: One pound of spaghetti will serve 4 to 6 as a main dish with sauce.
