Ingredients
- 1/2 cup onion, sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 - garlic cloves, minced
- 2 pounds tomatoes, canned
- 16 ounces tomato sauce
- 3 ounces mushrooms, canned
- 1/4 cup parsley
- 1.5 teaspoons oregano
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon thyme
- 1 - bay leaf
- 1 cup water
How To Make spaghetti sauce

Step 1In large skillet, cook onion in hot oil until almost tender.

Step 2Add meat and garlic; brown lightly.

Step 3Add remaining ingredients.

Step 4Simmer uncovered 2 to 2 1/2 hours or until sauce is thick; stir occasionally.

Step 5Remove bay leaf.

Step 6Serve over hot spaghetti.

Step 7Garnish with parmesan cheese, if desired.

Step 8NOTE: One pound of spaghetti will serve 4 to 6 as a main dish with sauce.
