This is a delicious mushroom sauce that goes great with steak, lamb or veal.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 cups fresh sliced mushrooms
  • 1 cup dry red wine
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon each ground rosemary and ground thyme
  • salt and pepper to taste

How To Make red wine mushroom sauce

  • Step 1
    In a sauce pan add the oil and saute the mushrooms until they have given off their liquid. Meanwhile mix the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce and cornstarch together. Set aside.
  • Step 2
    Once the mushrooms are browned. Add the wine and bring to a boil and let reduce by half. Add the beef broth mixture and boil until thickened. Add the rosemary and thyme. Taste and season with salt and pepper.
