  • 1 1/2 cups pineapple juice
  • 1/2 cup hoisin sauce
  • 1/3 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 5 tablespoons brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons ginger, minced
  • 2 cloves garlic (large), pressed
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • corn starch slurry (1/2 Tbsp corn starch mixed with 1/4 cup cold water)

How To Make polynesian bbq sauce

  • Step 1
In a saucepan over medium-high heat, combine all the ingredients and stir until well blended.
  • Step 2
Bring the mixture to a boil, reduce to medium-low, and let it simmer for 20 minutes, or until the sauce reduces by 1/3, stirring often.
  • Step 3
Turn the heat to high and bring it to a boil. Add corn starch slurry, and stir until the sauce thickens, about 60 seconds.
  • Step 4
