My grandmother's recipe for applesauce that I absolutely love to this day! It was passed down to me from her. It was originally my great grandmother's recipe.

Ingredients

8 - medium, tart apples peeled and quartered
1 cup water
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup red hot cinnamon candy disks or hearts

How To Make nonny's chunky cinnamon applesauce

Step 1

Place apples and water in 5qt. saucepan. Cover and cook over medium low heat for 20 minutes or until tender.

Step 2

Mash the apples with a fork. Add sugar and candies. Cook uncovered until sugar and candies dissolve.
