I use Old Bay in more than just Crab Cakes so I like to mix up my own so I know exactly what is in the mix.

  • 1 tsp
    freshly ground white pepper

    allspice, ground
  • 1 tsp
    freshly grated nutmeg
  • 1 tsp
    clove, ground
  • 1/2 tsp
    red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 tsp
    mace, ground
  • 1/2 tsp
    cardamon, ground
  • 1/4 tsp
    cinnamon, ground

How to Make My Old Bay Seasoning

  1. Combine all ingredients in an airtight jar, mix thoroughly. I like to give it a twirl in the food processor just to make it a bit finer powder.

Keep sealed until ready to use.
  2. To give as a gift, place in a pretty jar, along with some recipes. This would look nice in a basket, maybe with some measuring spoons, and ingredients for one of the recipes you give. Enjoy
