My Mom would make this at least once a week growing up. She used real tomatoes mostly... but I use cans... shhhh dont tell her!!

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup ev olive oil
  • 2 (14oz) cans diced tomatoes (i think hunts is best but use what you like)
  • 3-4 cloves garlic chopped or sliced
  • 1 - handful of parsley
  • 4-5 - basil leaves rolled up and torn
  • - salt & pepper to taste

How To Make my marinara sauce

  • Step 1
    sautee garlic in oil until it starts to get golden in color (make sure not to burn)
  • Step 2
    Add the tomatoes, parsley and basil and bring to a boil (stir often)
  • Step 3
    Simmer for about 30 minutes to an hour (the longer the better but not necessary)
