This is the first recipe I ever got from my mother-in-law. It's the best BBQ sauce I've made to use in hamburger BBQ. It's also great for grilling to brush on chicken or pork. It's the perfect blend of sweet and tangy.

method Stove Top
yield 6-8 serving(s)

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped green bell pepper
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup beef stock
  • 1/4 cup worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup sugar

How To Make mom's barbeque sauce

  • Step 1
In a large saucepan, over medium heat, cook the onion and green pepper in the oil until onion is opaque, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Step 2
Add the ketchup, beef stock, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar and sugar.
  • Step 3
Mix well and bring to a simmer. Simmer for 5-6 minutes to blend flavors.
