Ingredients
- 2 cloves garlic, lightly mashed
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 pounds ripe plum tomatoes
- 8-10 - fresh basil leaves, torn in pieces
- to taste - salt
How To Make marinara sauce

Step 1Peel, seed and chop the tomatoes

Step 2In a large skillet, over medium heat, cook the garlic until golden (about 4 minutes). Press occasionally with the back of a spoon.

Step 3Add the tomatoes and salt.

Step 4Bring to a simmer

Step 5Cook, stirring often, until the sauce is thick. (About 15-20 minutes.

Step 6Stir in the basil leaves and cook for 2 minutes more,

Step 7Serve over pasta or as a dipping sauce for bread or cheese sticks.
