make the best caramel without buying caramel.
My mother taught me this trick while making her homemade candies for Easter one year. I think this caramel is tasty and better than buying the caramel from the store in a bag taking it home and standing there removing all of the wrappers from each piece and then melting for your recipes. This is easy, cheaper and YUMMY. I am not sure where she got the idea, but it is a keeper with me. Enjoy..

How To Make make the best caramel without buying caramel.
-
Step 1Take one can of Sweetened condensed milk, remove the label and wash the can. Put the can into a saucepan full of water, make sure saucepan is deep enough for can to be submerged and covered in the water. Put onto stove and let come to a boil, cook on medium to medium low heat for four hours. Turn off the heat and remove saucepan from the burner. Remove the can from the saucepan and set it on a cutting board to cool until the can is room temperature or cool and easy to pick up with your hands. Take the lid off, with your can opener, and stir. It makes the best caramel that is so yummy, you will be tempted to grab a spoon and eat it right out of the can. Very sweet and yummy.
