Spicey Hot Oil Condament

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups korean kimchi red pepper flakes or plain red pepper flakes
  • 2 cloves elephant garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon powder ginger
  • 1/2 tablespoon salt
  • 11/2 cups canola oil

How To Make korean hot oil

  • Step 1
    put 1st 4 ingriedants into a medium sized bowl set aside
  • Step 2
    add oil to pot over med high heat an cook up to 325°
  • Step 3
    See *NOTE* At this step remove oil from stove and gently pour about a 1/3 into bowl with the 1st 4 ingredients and using a spoon gently stir oil mixture for a few seconds mixing well
  • Step 4
    *note *  (BE CAREFUL THE DRY INGREDIENTS WILL FROTH UP BECAUSE ITS COOKING)
  • Step 5
    pour rest of the oil into bowl and then stir gently well and then let cool to room temperature
  • Step 6
    Bottle oil when cool with wet ingredients (mash) or strain for just clear oil. I strain oil and put it into a bottle and i leave a little bit of the wet ingredients (mash) with oil and jar it.
