Ingredients

  • 1 c
    ketsup
  • 1 c
    tomato sauce
  • 3/4 c
    brown sugar
  • 3/4 c
    red wine vinegar
  • 1/4 c
    molasses
  • 2 Tbsp
    butter
  • 2 tsp
    liquid smoke, hickory flavor
  • 1/4 tsp
    onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp
    cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp
    smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp
    celery seed
  • 1/2 tsp
    coriander
  • 1/8 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp
    chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    sea salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    freshly ground black pepper

How to Make Kelly's Kickin' BBQ Sauce

Step-by-Step

  1. In a large saucepan, combine all ingredients and bring to a boil. Simmer for a minimum of 45 minutes, stirring occasionally. Sauce will thicken during both cooking and cooling.
  2. This recipe can be doubled or tripled. The sauce freezes well (up to 2 months), best if thawed in the refrigerator.
