I love the taste of Teriyaki Sauce and this recipe is much better than any bottled sauce I have used. I always have some on hand to use on a variety of foods.

Ingredients

2/3 c
japanese sweet rice wine
1 c
soy sauce
4 1/2 tsp
rice vinegar
1 tsp
sesame oil
1/3 c
granulated sugar
7 clove
garlic, minced
1 Tbsp
fresh ginger. (you may substitute 1 teaspoon ground ginger)
Dash
red pepper flakes
black pepper, to taste

How to Make Jan's Teriyaki Sauce

Step-by-Step

  • 1Bring sweet rice wine to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to medium low and simmer for 10 minutes.
  • 2Add soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil and sugar. Season with garlic, ginger, pepper flakes and black pepper. Simmer an additional 5 minutes.
  • 3Store in refrigerator in tightly sealed container.
