Great way to make a bunch of caramelized onions. Store in fridge and warm to add to sandwiches

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 pounds yellow onions sliced about 1/2 inch thick
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • salt and pepper

How To Make instant pot caramelized onions

  • Step 1
    Select saute in Instant pot and add the butter and olive oil. Once the butter has melted add the onions, sugar and season with salt and pepper.
  • Step 2
    Cook stirring until the onions start to sizzle. Set pressure to high and lock the lid. Select 4 minutes and cook. once done use quick release to expell pressure.
  • Step 3
    Unlock the lid and stir in the balsamic vinegar. Turn saute back and cook until onions are golden brown stirring often, Taste and adjust for salt and pepper
