Ingredients
- 12 ounces can red beets
- 1 small jar white horseradish
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup white vinegar
How To Make hrun, horseradish sauce, mark's
-
Step 1Put the beets into a food processor or blender and shred thoroughly. Drain the beets, reserving the liquid for later use. Place the beets in a medium bowl, and add the horseradish. Mix in the honey, and add vinegar to taste.

Step 2Notes: This is a kind of Polish wasabe sauce. Depending on your preference it can be made explosively hot or quite mild by varying the amount of horseradish involved. Brown sugar can be substituted for honey, but it's not quite as traditional. It's a perfect sauce for Hrudka, and was usually blessed in the same Easter Basket as the hrudka.
