homemade spaghetti sauce

I like to make things that are easy on the wallet and delicious on the pallet. This is one of my favorite go to sauces. I hope you all enjoy it.

Ingredients

  • 28 ounces canned plum tomatoes with basil
  • 6 ounces tomato paste
  • 14 ounces water
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder or fresh
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • - salt and pepper to taste

How To Make homemade spaghetti sauce

  • Step 1
    Place tomatoes with juices in a large sauce pan and using your hands or a masher gently crush tomatoes.
  • Step 2
    Add water tomato paste and seasonings to now crushed tomatoes. Stir and bring to a simmer.
  • Step 3
    Serve with favorite pasta or use in any dish requiring spaghetti sauce.
  • Step 4
    For a chunky sauce you can add 16 oz package of sliced mushrooms and 1 lb. of cooked hamburger or Italian sausage.
