Ingredients
- 12 ounces can tomato paste
- 16 ounces diced, stewed, tomatoes
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- 1/2 cup diced bellpepper
- 2 tablespoons oil
- - water
- 1 pound lean hamburger, cooked and drained
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper (omit for lasagne)
- 2 tablespoons butter (omit for lasagne)
- 1 tablespoon sugar
How To Make homemade italian sauce

Step 1Allow hamburger to cook in large chunks.

Step 2Saute onion and pepper in oil. Add hamburger and remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil, then turn down heat and simmer 25-30 minutes, adding 1/4 cup more water if necessary. Sauce should be thick.

Step 3Serve on pasta (or use in lasagna.)
