  • 3 Tbsp
    good chili powder (gephardt's or mexene)
  • 4 x
    i mix together ancho,guajillo, and chipotle powders
  • 1/2 c
    ground cumin
  • 1/2 c
    dry oregano
  • 1/2 c
    onion powder
  • 1/4 c
    garlic powder
  • 1/2 c
    season salt
  • 1/4 c
  • pinch
    cayenne pepper

How to Make Homemade Chili Seasoning


  1. Combine all ingredients, except the garlic powder, in a skillet, turn heat on high and cook until the mixture becomes fragrant and starts to smoke, 20-30 seconds.
  2. Let cool, add garlic, mix well.
    Store in an airtight container.
  3. Make about 1 1/3 cups.
    I use 1 1/2 - 2 tbs. per 1 lb. of ground beef.
