You control the heat by the amount of red pepper. We like it on hotter side so I add more for my family's taste.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup red chili pepper, ground or cayenne
  • 1/4 cup paprika, sweet mild
  • 2 tablespoons onion flakes, dehydrated
  • 4 teaspoons cumin seeds
  • 2 teaspoons mexican oregano
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder with parsley
  • 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

How To Make homemade chili powder

  • Step 1
    Combine all ingredients. Store in a glass container.
  • Step 2
    Add 3 tablespoons to each pound of meat when making chili.
  • Step 3
    Replace commercial chili powder in favorite recipes.
  • Step 4
    Use to season meat for tacos or taco salad.
  • Step 5
    Add to ground beef for grilled burgers or a meat loaf.
