- 5 tablespoons crushed sichuan chili flakes
- 1 tablespoon chinese 5 spice powder
- 3 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds
- 1 teaspoon ground sichuan powder
- 2 - whole star anise
- 2 - bay leaves
- 1 cup vegetable oil
How To Make homemade chili oil

Step 1Place the chili flakes, five spice powder, sesame seeds, star anise, ground Sichuan peppercorns and bay leaves in a metal container. Set aside.

Step 2Place oil over heat and heat until it reaches 370 degrees. Carefully pour over the spices. They will bubble a bit. Stir with metal spoon. Let cool then remove the star anise and bay leaves. Can be stored up to 6 months in fridge.
