Much better than store bought! You can store this syrup in your refrigerator or even freeze it.

I have a confession to make, I may never go back to maple syrup again! This syrup was so buttery and sweet you don't even need to use extra butter (but we all know an extra pat of butter doesn't hurt). This is delicious!

How to Make Homemade Buttermilk Syrup

Step-by-Step

  1. Mix all ingredients (except baking soda and vanilla) in a sauce pan and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Let simmer for 1 minute.
  2. Remove from heat and add baking soda and vanilla.
