I have a confession to make, I may never go back to maple syrup again! This syrup was so buttery and sweet you don't even need to use extra butter (but we all know an extra pat of butter doesn't hurt). This is delicious!
Hint: I let the mixture boil for about 2 minutes, then let it simmer. Thickened up perfectly!

1 stickbutter

1 cgranulated sugar

1/2 cbuttermilk

1 tspcorn syrup

1/2 tspbaking soda

1/2 tspvanilla
How to Make Homemade Buttermilk Syrup
- Mix all ingredients (except baking soda and vanilla) in a sauce pan and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Let simmer for 1 minute.
- Remove from heat and add baking soda and vanilla.
