Ingredients
- 2 cups dried arbol chilies
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 1/2 tablespoons honey
- 1 teaspoon caraway seeds, ground
- 2 teaspoons cumin
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 lemon, juice of
- kosher salt, to taste
How To Make harissa sauce

Step 1Simmer the chilies until soft in water to cover - about 10 minutes. Drain the chilies.

Step 2Slice each chili down the center and wash in water to remove the seeds.

Step 3Mince chilies with a knife until they resemble a thick paste.

Step 4Mix all ingredients together, adding more oil, lemon juice or honey to get to a sauce-like consistency if necessary.
