Ingredients

  • 4 egg yolks
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup Grand Marnier or other orange flavored liqueur, divided
  • 2 cups whipping cream, whipped

How To Make grand marnier sauce for fruit

  • Step 1
    Place egg yolks in the top of a double boiler; bring water to a boil. Reduce heat to low; cook, beating at medium speed, until thick and lemon colored.
  • Step 2
    Gradually add the sugar, beating well. Stir in the lemon juice and salt.
  • Step 3
    Combine the flour and 2 tablespoons Grand Marnier; stir well until smooth.
  • Step 4
    Add the flour mixture to the egg mixture, stirring well with a wire whisk.
  • Step 5
    Add the remaining 1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons Grand Marnier; cook over low heat until the mixture is thickened, stirring constantly.
  • Step 6
    Remove from the heat, and let cool completely. Gently fold in the whipped cream.
  • Step 7
    Cover and chill thoroughly. Serve the sauce over fresh fruit.
