italian grandma pesto sauce

This Pesto sauce is amazing! It's great with Parmesan chicken and pasta! Also it's a great dip for bread. :) If doing this recipe for gluten free, be careful of what brand nuts you buy and check if they are gluten free.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups baby arugula leaves
  • 3/4 cup basil leaves
  • 1/2 cup mostly pine nuts and handful of shelled pistachio nuts totaling 1/2 cup
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2/3 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/3 cup grated asiago cheese
  • 1 pound linguine pasta (i like deboles quinoa gf pasta but the gluten free pasta choice is yours)
  • 1 pinch salt if desired

How To Make italian grandma pesto sauce

  • Step 1
    *Pesto is required to be made in a food processor. In the food processor, add extra virgin olive oil, cheese, and nuts. Process for 1-2 minutes. Then add garlic, basil, and arugula. Process for 2-3 minutes.

    Cook pasta according to directions.
